A little story about myself

My name is Christiane, born in 1983 and raised in Germany (Saxony), living abroad since I am 19 years.

Since I can remember I have enjoyed eating! My favorite diet from a small age was vegetarian.

When I started Hotelschool at the age of 16, a whole new world opened up to me and I learned all about the industry. I enjoyed connecting socially with colleagues and guests. My love for food and different cultures grew even more through my time living in Zurich, working for Hilton Hotel, and moving to Amsterdam. Always focused on high quality and authenticity.

About 8 years ago I dove into the world of well-being. Step by step I grew...practicing yoga regularly (I am so grateful for my teachers) and mainly by cooking a lot...for myself, changing my diet, cooking for others, inspiring them to try something different and that healthy meals can be absolutely delicious. The Ayurvedic nutrition study taught me about the basic principles of digestion and everything around it, how food and the use of spices can support us in the different phases of life and throughout the day.

For years I was part of producing the beautiful vegan lunches of Cropbox which were delivered around Amsterdam. Here is where I learned most of my cooking skills.

In 2017 I started cooking for groups at (yoga) retreats at Huzur Vadisi which took my experience into another specific direction. Combined with serving at Restaurant Marius/Amsterdam.

During the last years, I had deepening experiences cooking at Suryalila Yoga retreats in Spain where we partly had our own grown vegetables, Yoga Rocks in Crete, and at Insabina in Itlaly for Yoga Spirit Cycle where I get to work with the best ever local vegetables.

Connecting to the land, picking fresh produce, or receiving it from someone who does makes me so happy.

At the moment I also cater for day retreats and workplaces and I am part of the team at Zacht Staal serving delicious daily menus. So, here I am excited to continue sharing my passion with the world.
